Upper Charging system for Kalashnikov Rifles
This item replaces the original gas tube with a new one that contains a new charging handle and slide. The new charging handle protrudes from the left side directly over the forearm of the rifle at the perfect angle to allow for easier and less troublesome charging. With a slight force in the upward direction from the operator the bolt assembly can be locked out of battery and away from the chamber. While utilizing the tension in the recoil spring a slight downward force on the new charging handle can be applied by the operator to release the bolt assembly forward and chamber a round in an instant. The pre existing charging handle on the right side is now unnecessary and can be discarded. All hardware is included. No gun smithing required. Counts as 1 US compliant part. MADE IN THE USA.
Advantages when compared to original charging system:
•Bolt locking system with release
•Built from the finest metals
•Allows for faster reloading
•Easier function for a right handed operator
•Quicker cooling
•Unlike other left sided charging systems, with the Ratchet Charging system you can use your left side optics rail
•Easier Cleaning
•Safety can be engaged when chambering a round (if old handle is discarded)
•Visual safety, when chamber is open while bolt is in locked position
•The operator no longer loses sight picture while loading
•Long lasting black matte finish
•Self cleaning design allows dirt and debris to easily exit the gas tube.
•Easier to clear missfeed
•Unproblematic reloading when firing from the prone position.

@dublinak did that front wood grip come with the gun? or did you buy it, and if you bought it do you know where I could get one??

yes, and since your going to put you hand on the forearm anyways…its faster then reaching over the gun.
It does make the …
It does make the firearm resist heat on the gas tube, in Pt. 2 i demonstrated this. please take a view.
If you are on …
If you are on patrol with a standard AK you are going to have to reach over an rack the bolt when the shooting starts or lower the safety if a round was already chambered. With this you set the bolt hold open before you go on patrol and only slap it when the shooting starts. Which one is faster?
A safety catch may be good to avoid unintentional chambering of rounds. I guess the original safety selector works but you are still reaching over to use it.

no i can remove my tube i mean my the piston how does it rotate? my piston is connected to my bolt cairier .. the piston turns when u lock back the slide?
What type of rifle …
What type of rifle do you own? the gas tube is usually removed by turning the switch located near your RSB. we’ve never had any ftf problems. the gas tube and the bolt carrier are two seperate parts.
how does the gas …
how does the gas tube move to lock my gas tube is riveted in with a punch so how would that not be classifeid as gunsmithing? i was just wandeing ever had anyt issues with failure to feed? the gas tube is it still connected to the bolt carier?
This is if your …
This is if your right handed of course.
The bolt lock was …
The bolt lock was put in mainly for safety. many ranges require you to have either a chamber flag in or the bolt open. this isn’t required when charging it, you can simply rack it back and let go. please watch pt. 3
When you switch it …
When you switch it to the left side, the charging handle is in your face, meaning you have to lower the rifle to charge it so you don’t slap your self. this also opens up your receiver cover and allows dirt into the trigger housing. when its in the upper portion of the rifle its closer to your hands and you wont lose site picture while charging and operating the rifle. you can leave the rifle shouldered, change mag, and charge it without lowering it due to hand movements.
dublinak – serious …
dublinak – serious question – why is this better than simply switching the charging handle to the left side of the carrier?
Additionally, the parts of the video that show you slapping it HK style don’t help the product. It would take more time and motion to set that up than to reach over the gun and charge it normally.

It is a reciprocating handle. we built it this way to stick with simplicity.

Not bad. Even as a …
Not bad. Even as a lefty, I’m used to working the FAL and HK systems with my right hand reaching over the top, so that’s no problem. I’d like one for a Saiga 7.62 setup, or any other Saiga (I wish the 12 ga had a removable tube).
Does the handle kick back during recoil? It’s hard to tell in the video.
