    dumbasses, its …
dumbasses, its designed for someone who has never done it before, therefore old school does not exist for them. Also, I am yet to find a plumber who gives a and actually takes as much care as a DIY does so maybe they don’t know your methods which are all different but at least they’re getting guidance and taking care in their work.

From what I saw,the shower mud bed is done twice? Those pieces for slope?LOL!!!!Here I thought I haseen everything now I have seen it all. There is nothing better than the old school method, neoprene and drypack.Silicone needed both above the drainflange and below for insurance, not plumbers putty. He did the walls first,in 25 years I never did that, first floor and butt walls to the floor to ensure a positive runoff from the walls to the floor to the drain.

    Did you just use …
Did you just use Plumber’s putty to seal the liner to the drain??? I am a licensed tile and plumber of 18 yrs. Plumbers putty isnt much of an adheasive or sealant. It works for what PLUMBERS use it for, but it won’t work for this. You should be using a quality silicone sealant. No wonder vinyl liners get such a bad rap, there is always a weak link in the chain. One day, when the drain clogs and the shower fills up with water, water will penetrate the dried putty , and you will have a leak…

    Dude, the outside …
Dude, the outside edges or the pan should ALWAYS be level, then you slope to drain. It not only looks bad when the wall tile has to conform to a slope, but how do you expect the water to drain properly???

A good hand does not need this quick pitch whatever stuff. But some of the nightmare jobs I’ve seen, I think some of them better start using it. I use the Shluter system. Real nice.
