Yes the driver is there, cdrom starts when windows strts but it stops and ……NOTHING!…It shows in Bios and Device Manager.
Driver version 5.1.2535.0 7/01/2001 by Microsoft.

Yes,..I’ve uninstalled it to try to get update but since its not on the deck , it shows that I don’t need the driver,…As soon as I put the Rom back…system provides the PNP corrupted driver
In Device Manager…DVD/CD ROM DEVICE .looks perfect….If you expand the list…..then you see the typical yellow sign with the above info.

One of these may apply to your situation. Maybe you need to update the driver for your external USB DVD drive because there is something in the old driver’s code which is upsetting Windows.
