SNES Final Fantasy VI – Intro

Now here’s my idea of a really good RPG. Notice it does not need CG, FMV CD audio or such things which seem to be standard nowadays. Final Fantasy VI (3 in the USA) was the final chapter on the Super Nintendo, and has yet to be beat up to now in the RPG genre, on any system. Was it the graphics? Was it the amazing and memorable OST? Maybe the plot? Not many game shave the end of the world halfway into the game, even Final Fantasy VII had the near apocalypse in the end, but on this one, the world really ends. And as far as I remember, the only RPG that had your characters sing in a opera. It was sad that this never came out in Europe (until much later, on PSX) and im happy to see it being release after all these years on GameBoy Advance, truly the perfect game for a perfect portable system. And remember: “Gotta wait for Shadow!”

Note: This is the Japanese version of the game, translated by RPGOne, it is much more faithful then the official US translation, making this for me, the definitive version of the game.

Most think back to 7 thinking its the best as it was most people’s first Final Fantasy. Alot of FF7 fanbois/gurls refuse to even touch the old school SNES and NES members of the series, which is extremely sad.

VI remains my favorite, hands down. And always will.

    I don’t know of any …
I don’t know of any place that has the FF6 rom and RPGone’s translation preinstalled on it(well I saw a few listed as it but it was just the US version FF3) , so you just have to use google and snag the orginal rom and then google RPGone and it should come up with his translation site, you may have to use a progam to patch the rom but you don’t need to with most emu’s just make the .isp(patch file) file the same name and directory as the rom

I guess im just going to have to get out all my old games and play them to get that feeling back hah. Im just ranting.
