VEDIC(Hindu) WAY OF WORSHIP —-How does it happen to be a complete & perfect system of worship to God?

Thank to Vedic sages who devised a wonderful & complete system of worshipping GOD.
This system consists of 4 constituents as given below.

1. WORSHIP GOD THROUGH DUTIES——
Vedas, Upnishads & Gita describe ‘SWADHERM’ ( i.e. one’s duties simple as per one’s nature) as the ‘Foremost Worship to GOD’. One should worship God through one’s all kinds of duties. In other words, one’s all duties should be God centered.

2. WORSHIP GOD THROUGH 5 SENSE ORGANS————
Devotion to God is felt through all senses.
It means, we feel devotion to God on HEARING word names like ‘Om, Parmatma, Par Brahm’ etc. We feel devotion to God on VIEWING visual names ( images) of God like ‘ Eight Handed, Three Eyed, Four Handed, Glow of Sun & Fire’ etc. We feel devotion to God with the SMELL & TASTE of sacred Prasad (eatable). We feel devotion to God with the TOUCH of holy river while having holy dip in it.

3. WORSHIP GOD THROUGH MIND——
While worshipping or trying to meditate on God, it is almost impossible to avoid, lots of unwanted thoughts which attack & float in our mind in the form of ungodly or dirty visuals, pictures and words .Vedic sages preached us to convert these unwanted thoughts into such Godly visuals, pictures & stories in our thoughts which make our MIND FEEL devotion to God.

4. WORSHIP GOD THROUGH ONE’S SPIRITUAL ENERGY (SOUL)———
Vedic system teaches about the techniques of ‘Pranayam & Meditation’. With a lot of patience, devotion, practice & with grace of God, one attains Self Realization ( i.e. awakening of one’s own spiritual energy). Finally, one recites the name of God through vibrations of one’s own SPIRITUAL ENERGY (i.e.SOUL).

Thus, ‘Sanatan (eternal) Vedic system makes us follow the wonderful & complete system of worship to God.

There are lots of wonderful facts about ‘Vedic way of living’.
You know! If one opts and accepts the ‘Vedic way of living’ he/she never needs to convert from his/her identity and roots.
As a matter of fact he/she gets attached more firmly to one’s roots.
Do you know about the wonderful fact associated in this regard?
THANK YOU. Please give your kind opinion.

Excellent question. Generally, we say on seeing an answer as wonderful. But, i saw your question and your great narrations and how i missed these days is not known. yes, very useful question for the people in hinduism.

1. WORSHIP GOD THROUGH DUTIES—– yes, one who do his duties promptly with utmost care is a service to god. we can do this by participating in the great temple functions, and the functions associated with religions.

2. WORSHIP GOD THROUGH 5 SENSE ORGANs – i agree your description which says full details.

3. WORSHIP GOD THROUGH MIND: yes, it is possible for all. our concentration should not be scattered.

4. WORSHIP GOD THROUGH ONE’S SPIRITUAL ENERGY (SOUL)——-yes, but so much patience needed.

my answer: what you narrated are very nice very good and you narrated as per sanatana vedhic system of worship to God. This is possible to the great gurus, saints, etc.,since their attention is always with god. But, what about the normal man in a family who takes care of his family, run for earnings and also he did not slip in worshiping god.

If a man sit 24 hours in thinking of god, what he will do to earn to save his family ? Chanting of a simple mantra or prayer is considered one of the easiest ways to worship God in Hinduism. The prayer can be Om or Om Namah Shivaya or Om Namo Narayanaya or any of the numerous other simple Hindu prayers. It is said in the Puranas that chanting of mantras is the best way to approach God in Kali Yuga and attain Moksha. It is believed that self realization, tapas, Dhyanam etc., are tough to practice for human beings living in Kali Yuga (the present age).

Importance of Chanting of Mantras and Prayers in Hinduism

Chanting of a simple mantra or prayer is considered one of the easiest ways to worship God in Hinduism. The prayer can be Om or Om Namah Shivaya or Om Namo Narayanaya or any of the numerous other simple Hindu prayers. It is said in the Puranas that chanting of mantras is the best way to approach God in Kali Yuga and attain Moksha. It is believed that self realization, tapas, Dhyanam etc., are tough to practice for human beings living in Kali Yuga (the present age).

In the Satya Yuga, Dhyanam was the easiest way to approach God. The human mind was not polluted in Satya Yuga and therefore he/she was able to climb the ladder of self realization easily.

In the Treta Yuga, Yajna and Yagams were seen as the methods of worship.

In the Dwapara Yuga, pujas and rituals were seen as the best modes or worship.

In the Kali Yuga, chanting of mantras and prayers is considered to be the ideal method to attain self realization. This is because the age of Kali is an age of inauspiciousness. Mind will be easily attracted to pleasures, which lasts only for few seconds. There will always be a craving for pleasures. There will be no control of desire. Non fulfillment of desire leads to anger and destruction. People will not be able to concentrate in the Kali Yuga.

Sage Narada who realized the traps and tribulations in Kali Yuga asked Brahma for a solution to escape from the problems and worries in the Kali Yuga. Brahma advised Sage Narada that chanting of mantras and prayers is the only solution to escape from the evils in Kali Yuga.

There are no rules or time to chant the simple mantras. A person can chant it whenever he/she wants to. The chanting of a particular mantra helps a person to identify with the Supreme Truth.

chanting Mantras will transform from an ordinary disturbed mind to a peaceful mind..The soul is at peace and happy…Mantras are so power that one can attain strength by chanting them with complete devotion…

while thanking you for giving a treasure, i feel that i am unable to give proper answer and i gave answer as per my knowledge. This is the days where people are running without any destination and they find no time to sit a while on many reasons. Hinduism did not compel the hindu people to do this and that but show a good way to life.

thanks for the opportunity !!!
