  • What is your opinion on the American (U.S.) education system? Too easy, too hard, or perfect?

Posted by admin on March 3rd, 2010 and filed under 1 perfect system | 9 Comments »

I as a student believe there are two things that are wrong with it. 1. It’s teaching the wrong values, and 2. Its in the wrong order of what they teach in what grade.

We worrie more about speed of getting answer from problems (an example is math) rather than accuracy, and actually understanding how we got the answer, and how to relate the answer to other things. (in shorten speech)

We prolong how long it takes to learn something and remember it too. It shouldn’t take 8 years to be ready for highschool math courses, and for that matter they should start with what they put in highschool, because it makes the other math types way eaiser.

It’s too easy. Public schools teach the wrong values. Many public schools now have a Gay Pride Club on campus. *ahem* umm We’re not supposed to encourage minors to have sex. This is so wrong! Sex ed. classes are a joke. Students are coddled instead pushed over the cliff- fig lang. here–. I’ve taught at continuation schools and at a juvenile detention center. (all the kids have a P.O). The NCLB mandate forces us to teach to the bottom students who don’t give a rip and we end up alienating the students who want to learn. The BS w/ESL has got to go. No habla ingles? ok get the ___ out of the country then. Chances are you’re illegal and shouldn’t be in the country.

Jack’s gone, but Joanna’s mission is far from over. Alone with only Chandra looking out for her, Joanna’s next stop is far out in the Pacific Ocean aboard one of dataDyne’s oceanic research facilities. It’s time to follow up Zeigler’s lead of tracking down a scientist with the familiar name of Dr. Caroll.

When talking to Father use the following answers:
“Welcome friend, this is Father. Please, state your crisis” select “Charm”
“Father, at your service” select “Threaten”
“System instability detected. Employee… file not present. This is Father, please state your crisis” select “Bluff”

    Intel core 2 quad q8400 : system hang problem…?

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under 1 perfect system | 1 Comment »

I started facing problems in my desktop a few days ago after replacing my ASUS P5N-D motherboard as the 3 of 4 ram slots were not working. Whenever I turned on my computer, the system started hanging after 1 or 2 minutes. The problem got worse afterwards when the system hung even in the bios screen , post screen and everywhere. I thought that it was something related to windows but the problem was that I could not even boot a disc to reinstall windows but somehow I was able to format the whole hdd with the windows xp cd but the system hung during the installation process. I then tried replacing each and ever part like ram, psu, dvd burner, graphics card, HDD etc. and when I replaced the quad q8400 with my age old pentium 4, the system seemed perfect.

So I need to know that is my processor damaged or something? Or is it something with the compatibility thing. I double checked everything about my ASUS P5N-D motherboard in ASUS site and know that the processor is fully compatible with the board. Should I contact intel for any replacement?

sounds like you answered your question, it is probably the processor either damaged or it a compatibility issue. contact intel or asus and run some diagnostics

As a death penalty supporter, don’t you have to tacitly accept that some innocents will be put to death…?

Posted by admin on February 27th, 2010 and filed under 1 perfect system | 16 Comments »

… to ensure the guilty are also put to death? And don’t you also have to find the execution of some innocents an acceptable trade-off in executing the guilty?

    Follow this chain of reasoning:

    (1) No perfect justice system can exist in reality – always, despite improvements and safeguards, the justice system is a human institution susceptible to human error, and some portion of those convicted will be innocent.
    (2) Some portion of those convicted innocents will be sentenced to death.
    (3) Some portion of those convicted innocents sentenced to death will actually be executed – since safeguards against this are also susceptible to human error as is the entire justice system.
    (4) Anything but an absolutely flawless, mistake free justice system will execute some innocent people given enough time.
    (5) Death penalty advocates, in advocating the death penalty at all, find the execution of some innocents acceptable.

But I thought many of you were pro-lifers who think it is never acceptable to sacrifice an innocent human life no matter what supposed benefit it has for society?

Asskicker, that is still not enough to ensure the justice system will always be 100% error proof.
ad hominem tu quoque – teekno. You can’t justify your support of the death penalty by pointing to abortion supporters as hypocrites.
Man, you conservatives sure are an argument from emotion bunch. I haven’t heard a good rational justification yet. Most of you are just attacking me.
rthimble, so you’re saying its okay if only a very few innocents are executed? How about your son or daughter?
maybe so swampy, but does that justify the killing of innocents to accomplish?
Matt D, I note that you didn’t say there was a certainty with the lengthy appeals process for wrongful convictions to be overturned. So you do accept the killing of innocents I see.
@Bigsky. Honestly this is not a weakness but a strength of the argument since, one assumes, the death penalty advocates wish to keep the death penalty in place forever.

While there are no certain cases of innocents being executed since the reinstatement of the death penalty, there have certainly been some close calls even recently, and there are a few cases within that time frame which look to be possible actual cases of innocents being executed. I think it is safe to say the probability is much higher than the sun suddenly taking a quantum jump. Also, not all cases are decided on forensic or DNA evidence, and, even if they were, human error can enter into those processes making them much less reliable than the statistics concerning them would indicate.
Possible cases within recent history where innocents were executed http://www.justicedenied.org/executed.htm
J, there is always some room for doubt. Even a person who admits guilt might be lying. And even the seemingly strongest evidence can sometimes point the wrong direction – especially when filtered through error prone human beings.

I have nothing against the death penalty in theory, but I would set the bar so high on it that it would be almost impossible in practice.
@Bigsky – I will get back to you, but probably not until tomorrow.

Ever ask yourself why yahoo answers reporting system doesn’t work?

Posted by admin on February 25th, 2010 and filed under 1 perfect system | 1 Comment »

    1) They get such a volume of reports, they can only spot check, not legitimately follow up all complaints. Thus, real violations remain — things such as spam and advertising and pornographic posts and racist slurs and epithets and nown answers, all the above. Check back on things you have reported, if you doubt this. They are probably still u, and will remain up.

    2) Any external link can be construed as a spam or advertisement. Even a link to a dot org nonprofit site. But because of the reason in number 1, a full investigation is never done, just a deletion after a hasty spot check.

    3) Admins look at answers minus the context of the question that promptd them, because, again, they are only doing a hasty spot check. So, for example, when someone posts "Is Mr. Jones stupid?", if your answer is "He’s stupid", you will be in violation, regardless the fact that the questioner directly invited that response.

No site rporting system is perfect. But answers’ is one of the webs worst.

    i ask myself this everyday.

What kind of point system would you devise for YA if you could choose more than 1 answer to award points to?

Posted by admin on February 23rd, 2010 and filed under 1 perfect system | 2 Comments »

What would that structure look like in your perfect Yahoo Answers?

Well, I’d keep that each answer earns 2 points, and voting earns 1, that’s all good stuff. I reckon maybe if there were a "middle ground" option where you could pick two different answers as best and give them 5points each, that would be great. Maybe also a 7pts-3pts split available as well.

Though I’d like to see points awarded for questions stuck on ‘tiebreaker" voting. If it’s been on tiebreaker for a week, say, I think both/all responders with the same amount of votes should earn some points.

    Third Conjugation perfect system

Type your answers below the questions.

    PRESENT PERFECT
agit – he acts … egit – he did act
cedit – she stops … cessit – she has stopped
defendit – he defends … defendit – he has defended
ponit – she places … posuit – she did place
mittit – he sends … misit – he sent

    1. How can you tell the difference between "agit" and "egit" and how do you translate each of them?

The stem is the indicator. "ag" is the present stem … "ago" – 1st prin . part; "eg" is the perfect stem – 3rd prin. part.

Translate as present tense (now) and past tense (then).

    2. When you are translating within a paragraph and you see "defendit," how will you know if it is Present or Perfect?

The context will tell you. If the tenses (and therefore the actions) are present for the other verbs, the tense is the same for "defendit". Same is true if other verbs are past tense (perfect tense).

    3. Is "cessit" listed in the dictionary found in the Appendix of the course?

Don’t know about your course; but "cesso" is the first prin. part and that is where you will find it in the dictionary.

    4. How will "cessit" be listed in the course dictionary?

    See above answer.

    5. In the chart above, translate the five Perfect Tense verb forms three ways in English. (e.g., I loved, I did love, I have loved)

You already have three of them. You can also translate as "I was loving" and "I have been loving". These are somewhat clumsy though; I would avoid them.

    6. Give the following synopses:

    Active Voice
ago, agere, egi, actus – do, drive, act : 2nd person plural, active

    Tense … Latin … English
Present … agis … you act
Imperfect … agebas … you acted, did act
Future … ages … you will act
Perfect … egisti … you have acted
Pluperfect … egeras … you had acted
Fut. Perf. … egeris … you will have acted

    Active Voice
cedo, cedere, cessi, cessus – stop , yield: 3rd person plural, active

    Tense … Latin … English
Present … cedunt … they stop
Imperfect …cedebant … they did stop
Future … cedent … they will stop
Perfect … cesserunt … they have stopped
Pluperfect … cesserant … they had stopped
Fut. Perf. … cesserint … they will have stopped

Brushless motors and speed controllers have come far since their introduction over ten years ago. One of the biggest evolutions has been in the area of programmability of the ESC and the different tuning options you have available to you. The Fuze ESC’s from Dynamite are perfect for just about any 1/10- or 1/18-scale application. From oval to on-road, off road and monster trucks, there’s a system here to suit your needs.
One of the biggest features of the Fuze ESC is that it can be tweaked and programmed to suit your needs and performance desires. We’ve had a chance to get some track time with the 1/10-scale system and one of the 3300Kv Short Course motors and really check this system out. We’ve played with the different settings and learned how this system works. From the initial setup, programming via the transmitter and playing around with the Quick Programming Card, we’ve gone through and experimented with just about everything this system can do. We work with the 1/10-scale system in this piece, however everything we show you here will also apply to the 1/18-scale systems. Check out our video below for tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your Fuze system.
