  • Should I buy a 1996 Toyota Camry XLE?

Posted by admin on February 13th, 2010 and filed under perfect car audio system | 4 Comments »

Hello, i have the opportunity to purchase a 96′ Camry XLE with 53,000 miles. Its going up for sale in a couple days and i just wanted to know how much should be paid for a car like this.

Just a few notes about the car, car is in pretty good condition, its not perfect as its 14 years old but is in good condition for the age, no rust. It is a 4 cyl, has a standard audio system, has leather interior, the color is a dark red and it does have a sunroof.

I am not trilled about the 4 cyl, but is it a good car to buy and how much should i pay for it?

    Thanks

Google Kelley Blue Book and you can get all the answers on used and new car prices.

What size(guage) wiring do I use?

Posted by admin on January 1st, 2010 and filed under perfect car audio system | 2 Comments »

    When I am replacing:
    1. The big 3 (batt., alt., ground wires)
    2. From batt to 1200 watt rms amplifier, hifonics brutus BXI1210D
    3. from amp to subs, (2) 600 watt rms subwoofers, hifonics brutus BRZ12SQD4’s
    4. Amp ground wire
    5. any other wiring I missed for a car audio system

This is my first car audio system, I have everything ready, baught, everything is compatible, and I have my enclosure properly constructed tuned to 35hz and perfect airspace inside for some serious spl boomin bass that I want. All I need to do now is go to the store and buy me some wiring so I can start getting this all together. thanks

a 4 gauge wiring kit for the amplifier will be fine. anytime i do the big three i use 0 gauge wire just so i don’t have to redo it if i decide to go to a larger amplifier later on.

Need help with choosing AMP and speakers..?

Hello and thanks for your help ahead of time I appreciate it.

I drive a 2007 Cobalt SS which stock Pioneer audio system – its jsut not enough compared to what I had in my old truck. I am going to be replacing everything in side the car – tweeters, mids, subs, amp, and last head unit. Need some help.

I am going to be ordering 2 of 10” subs from this site.
    https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/sess/utn;jsessionid=154ad77be06fe7b/shopdata/0050_Speakers/0040_SSD/product_overview.shopscript

I was wondering what size amp I need etc. trying to learn more and more about this stuff. since the car has a total is 2 tweeters, and 4 speakers with 2 subwoofers obviously this is a factor when it comes to choosing an amplifier. Anything you can throw at me would be perfect I will look into this further now.

    Thank you !!

I would run 2 separate amps one for your subs and one for you mids and highs. As far as the subs go if you choose the dual 2ohm you can wire the voice coils in series and the speakers wired in parallel which would give you a 2ohm load. The Planet Audio BB2400.1 would be great for them.

what are these Infinity speakers, and what is the difference?

I have no knowledge of car audio, when comparing Infinity Kappa Perfect speakers, what is a Two-way component system, a Two-way shallow-mount loudspeaker, and a Three-way loudspeaker?

Component speakers have a seperate woofer and tweeter with an external crossover. You connect your amp to the crossover and the crossover has individual outputs for the woofer and tweeter. These speakers tend to perform the best in both volume and sound quality due in large part to the high quality crossover, and the ability to mount the speakers individually using their location to enhance sound quality.
The main drawback is the installation is a bit more difficult than a standard pair of speakers.

The two-way shallow mount is just a coaxial speaker (woofer and tweeter in one unit) that is not as deep as a typical speaker. They generally use a stronger magnet material so it does not have to be as large as a conventional type speaker – therefore requiring less depth for installation.

A three way speaker just adds a 2nd tweeter which is kind of gimmicky IMO. One tweeter per woofer should be enough to cover all the high frequencies.
Some of the off-brand speaker manufacturers sell 4 and 5-way speakers (maybe more) which is completely ridiculous. It’s a little like the $100 amps that advertise thousands of watts — all marketing BS.

Both SVC (single voice coil) infinity series subwoofers were “bass – less” when we found them -. Pushin 1000 watts & Blowing woofers has never been so fun on a pdx alpine amp :D Alpine pdx-1.1000 – As for the woofers – we re-coned the subs, and re-built them to work. 2 12 inch Single Voice Coils 4 Ohm subs…. We did not use any high quality, comp products in good condition. That’s why I felt fine to blow them up to knockout flame smoking explosion :D The explosion was huge & louder than I expected. It was frying them guys !! No kidding, litterally cooking them and melting them fried. The best part was the flaming crazy flex from that paul wall track, you know, that really loud bass song, with that really good deep sounding bass line, really did the wicked cool exploding trick! – It was awesome, and it was insane that when it caught on fire the smoke & fire didn’t spread lol. They sure were smoked. No largest world record here, just a nice fun night. All time fun – all time bass Thought I’d share it.

Thinking about purchasing a used 2004 Nissan Altima w/ 97,000 miles. Your thoughts?

Posted by admin on October 14th, 2009 and filed under perfect car audio system | 4 Comments »

This is what the owner wrote me: "The 2004 Nissan Altima SE 6 Cyl Automatic is in perfect working condition. This vehicle engine runs very, very smooth. No electrical problems on this beauty. This detailed vehicle makes the exterior looks like it just came off the assembly line. The car has 97,710 miles.
    Transmission: Automatic
    Options
Safety Features Security System Keyless Entry Anti-Lock Brakes Driver’s Air Bag Passenger Air Bag Fog Lights Intermittent Wipers Rear Defogger
Audio / VideoFactory System AM/FM CD Player 4 Speaker System"

He is selling it for about $3,000–going over seas for military reasons and needs to sell it. I’m just curious as to what the max life (mileage wise) a nissan altima can run to. Seems like this car has been well maintained. I’m just curious as to how many miles a nissan altima can go to?

VG-35DE motors last a long time either the automatic 4 or five speed trans will will last too. Very few 6 speed maunals out there. Many of my customers have 200,000 miles still running strong with only a couple O2 sensors frequent air filters and oil changes 4 sets of tires. Good Choice be cautious $3,000 is awfully cheep? Did you buy a Car fax report?

help me!!! ne body there!woofers..woofers….woof woof, hello earthlings can u help me again?

hello brothers..my advice "dont buy car ..if u do,dont buy a car system.and if u still made this mistake do anwer me this please.
i want to buy a woofer with three brand in my mind plz tell me which should i buy
    1st infinity kappa perfect
    2nd kicker L5
    3rd mtx audio

so if thre is ne better out there plzanswer even if u dont kno what is a woofer
well there m not on drugs and plz dont answer stupid.and plz plz do not tell me to go to some website or store ,i had been to meny an read many reviws thats y m here for a final answer

I like them all, really its hard to tell with out listening to them. I would have to ask a few questions to give you a better answer.

    1. What are you powering them with, amp name, model and nominal power rating?
    2. What type of box?
    3. What type of vehicle?
    4. What size woofer?
    5. Are you looking for volume or accuracy?

Well with out this info it hard say which is better.
I would say for accuracy the infinity, for volume and power handling the kicker, and mtx is in the middle, but it depends on the mtx model.

    I hope this helps.

P.S. Being in car audio for about 10 years and selling it for a few years, I can say sony is the worst of the bunch, please avoid them at all costs. I have seen people saying they are the best, believe sitting and listening to them in an audio room and comparing sony products to the likes of eclipse, boston acoustics, polk audio, alpine, fosgate, there really isn’t a comparison, sony is in a lower class.
