I am buying a system for my grand daughter who is in her 2nd yr of a media school. She needs her own system for video capture, editing, audio mixing, and conversion for web and mobile use. Using the schools systems is "getting old" and I’d like to buy her the perfect system that won’t : be obsolete in a yr., break the bank, and contain only relevant hard and software. I am afraid to ask sales people because its obvious I am out of the loop at my age. I see gateways that look like they have what she needs but people say Macs are the best. Any help you can give would be great.
for a media system, definitely look for a large hard drive(500gb in a laptop, and 1tb in a desktop). It should also have a decent cpu, definitely at least a dual core with at least 2.2ghz, and at least 3gb of ram. Graphics card is I guess optional because it’s mainly used for gaming.
