The Pacific Northwest thunderstorm season for 2009 looks to be the most active I have seen in many years. Almost every time there is a passage that allows monsoon moisture combined with day time heating and humidity, we get these erupting thunderstorms. We had just gotten through possibly one of the biggest derecho events on June 4, and the storms won’t go away. I love thunderstorms anyhow and this is fun! Perfect example of the Midwest if you ask me.
Anyways, a severe thunderstorm developed in Clackamas County, with possible 1″ hail and heavy rainfall. At 10:30 AM we were warned for developing thunderstorms by about 2 pm, and they were right.
Another warning was issued at 5:24 pm for extreme southeastern Multnomah County and extreme northeastern Clackamas County. 1″ hail and 60 mph winds were possible with that storm.

Damn… lol. Before people bitched to the NWS Office in Moon Township… we averaged about 3 STW EAS Activations every night we get bad weather in the summer. Now it’s only when we have flash floods, Tornadoes, or anything that can be considered an immediate threat.

Same story with me only without the medicine! I heard Coos Bay is just clear all the time, with an occasional cloud or haze. The NWS in Medford never issues any warnings for your area, ive noticed that.
