Can you really call Capitalism a perfect system when no matter what…?

there is still a massive majority in near poverty due to how it operates?

I’m not even saying Communism or Socialism better, but isn’t it perhaps time to rethink things, and see if we can have a system where no one is punished due to where they’re born or what they’re born into?

Okay it sounds pretty impossible, but this is main flaw of Capitalism, no matter how many end up winning, more lose, it’s a system that favours class above all.

I just want some actual genuine thoughts, and as I said the other systems aren’t much better.
My problem is people rely on a broken system and accept it, it’s ludicrous.

Capitalism, in all of its variants, rules the economic exchanges of men and always will.

Even the Soviet State could not escape this reality. State capitalism is still yet capitalism with similar results.

Capitalism is not "free" anywhere, even in the use. Our economy is blended and it always has been to various degrees.

Can your think of any "system" that will reform the character of man? Isn’t that really the issue?

Capitalism isn’t perfect, but it operates on the flaws of man and uses them to its advantage. This has resulted in the highest standard of living. The reason why there is such a high poverty rate is because of the governments efforts to combat poverty through welfare programs.

There is no perfect system but Capitalism is the only one that works without outright theft from one class to another.

Actually, capitalism is a very bad system…but all the others are so much worse!

Under socialism, everyone loses–except for the elites who run the system.

I don’t know a soul who claims that capitalism is perfect, but I know plenty who believe it to be better than either communism or socialism.

Capitalism is not perfect when government becomes the group who picks the winners as it has in the last 60 years in this country America. Capitalism is not perfect for some because it does require some effort on the part of those involved, and as you can see we have a lot of people who would rather set at home than get up and cook breakfast for there own children. (causing free breakfast at school because the looser parent who are to lazy to cook breakfast are not going to get up to get a job or start a business ) It is that which is now leading this country down the wrong path. There is a solution. Cut free breakfast, lunch, require parents to get up and get there children ready for school stop teaching children that life is free and if they want to follow in there parents foot steps it will not be free any longer.

you have to decide — do you want high economic growth and thus high opportunity for all or would you prefer low growth and significant advantages to those who are already wealthy or are well connected to the government?

personally, i think it abhorrent when a politician ends up wealthy because of the extra connections and deals he gets because he can influence government programs, buying, the laws, etc.

i like that your question is fair though and isn’t overly aggressive so kudos to that. you just dont see that alot on here. and your right it would be time to rethink things if it were capitolisms fault on the recent collapse and collapse before hand but it isnt. if you look at the 08 collapse alot of liberals and progressives would love for you to believe well see deregulation took place in 05 and we had a collapse fail on the part of free market but that simply was completely beside the problem. the problem was the government taking control of interest rates and lowering that lower than the market would set them. everytime you do this there will be more investment then there otherwise would be in in long term projects weve lowered the interest rate now since 01 i believe. now all this investment made its way into the housing market because mainly of fannie and freedie amongst other things like tax credits to first time home buyers. now this was all the governments doing and if not the government the federal reserve which is a government creation. i would say the problem would be that the government believes it knows best for the economy and takes macro steps to completely and grossly distort what the free market would not have done.

but to be short what we have now is an odd mix of socialitic facistic central banking thats so far skewed capitalism it makes no sense for people to say what we have is lassiez faire. subsidizes stimulus bailouts regulations central banking. these are things you dont see in a free market society yet these are things we have in affect always had in american history and things oddly enough progressives ignore when blaming free market for our problems. i hope this was informative.

but yes free markets are only as perfect as are the businessmen and entrepeanuers are perfect at predicting consumer demand but still if we were for once to really try capitalism completely undistorted by government and central banking i think we would be surprised by the results and the standards of living would increase this is what happens in a capolitistic society because it coincides with freedom.

Every one that has not succeeded in life and became wealthy wants to blame it on some thing or someone. I have heard all sorts of excuses. Many people who become successful will tell you they failed several times before they hit on an idea that worked for them. There are no promises other than every one has an equal opportunity in a capitalist system. I know several wealthy people who came up thru the blue collar ranks working long and hard hours to get there. The problem today is every one wants to start on top, no one is willing to put forth the effort it requires to succeed. It is still there for those willing to go for it.

It isn’t perfect. I believe that the liberals who throw in dashes of socialism everywhere are messing it up. TRUE CAPITALISM is defined by lazzie faire (spelling?) and low taxes. Right now with the taxes and the uncertainty true capitalism is not being allowed to flourish.

It is the best though. Lets say im a greedy guy. I have millions of dollars and i own my own company. though im greedy i still contribute to the economy because i employ X amount of people, who will in turn pay taxes. Do you say how capitalism plays off these "flaws?"
