Question for the atheists, Why is Earth so perfect?

The earth is a living planet where many complex systems run perfectly and continuously, without pause. When compared to other planets, it is evident that in all its aspects the earth is specially designed for human life. Built on delicate balances, life prevails in every spot of this planet, from the atmosphere to the depths of the earth.

Are you saying that there must be a creator then?
And the reason this creator allowed to Holocaust, the 2004 tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, the current genocide in Darfur and the AIDS epidemic in Africa to occur would be?

The Earth is not perfect. It is ever changing due to evolution. What do you mean without pause? Have you ever heard of an Ice Age?

no, human life is a paragraph in the book of life, this world is by no means designed for humans, to think so is to be completely ignorant of reaity.

humans, like all other species, are in a constant battle for survival – an ongoing evolutionary arms race

Not designed for human life at all. It provides a suitable atmosphere for life (not just human by any means) but it can hardly be called ‘perfect’. If it was, wouldn’t the ozone layer have been ‘designed’ to withstand pollution?

Perfect? Like, the o-zone lair that’s dissolving, the natural disasters that take thousands of lives, the sun that constantly emits deadly radiation that could cook us in an instant?

Beautiful, no doubt. The Universe is an amazing thing. But it’s oh-so-far from perfect. :)

It’s so arrogant to think this planet is designed for us. The earth is in a very fortunate position with the perfect atmosphere and conditions for life to begin. Very, very few other planets are and none that we have observed, but there are many billions of planets. It would be unlikely for life not to exist somewhere, and only a planet that could support life would have beings capable of recognising their ‘unlikely’ situation. Evolution is completely capable of explaining the diversity and complexity of life.

We haven’t studied every other planet in the universe. Once that’s done, and no other life is found anywhere, then maybe you’ll be able to make a better case. Of course, since so much of the earth is not capable of supporting human life, your second sentence is meaningless.

    The earth is NOT perfect.
It’s lack of perfection, and the obvious "gerry rigged" aspect to many creatures (such as the sesamoid bone in the wrist of pandas which has evolved to have the function of a thumb) is proof to me.
It is NOT evident that it is specially designed for human life.

Given all the planets in the solar system, it is inevitable that at least a few trillion will form with the right "balance" to sustain life. There is actually a pretty good window at which a planet can be for life. For example if Mars has lots of water, it would be a lot like earth.

Was the earth designed for humans? Or did life evolve to survive on earth? There’s much more evidence to support the latter.

    "Why is Earth so perfect?"
I think you meant to add "for we humans and associated earth bound flora and fauna", didn’t you?

I’m sure all the other planets that sustain life throughout the millions of galaxies in the multi-verse also meet the needs of the life they bear.

You want us to believe that just because there is some order about the multi-verse’s existence it means there must be an invisible sky critter pulling the puppet strings otherwise everything would be chaotic for ever.

You incorrectly believe that chaos stays as chaos.
ALL chaos eventually and ‘naturally’ finds its own balance and laws – it is the nature of chaos to do so … it needs NO imaginary friends.

Just because you don’t understand something it does NOT mean GODDIDIT.
I don’t understand how computers work OR how a combustion engine works OR how a television shows all those pictures without a little man inside the box OR how a nuclear power plant works OR how the brain works OR how penicillin cures some diseases and not others OR how some people catch a cold and not others … there are SO many things I don’t know and or understand BUT I do NOT resort to the child’s answer that thunder is the god fighting in the sky.

You really need to learn some stuff.
The bible (aka the Goatherders’ Guide to the Galaxy) might have some ‘good’ stuff about invisible sky critters in it BUT it contains NO information to enable scientists to find a cure for cancer, does it?
When you are sick you go to a modern doctor, don’t you?
You don’t go to a witch doctor, do you?

The earth is far from perfect; why do you ignore the imperfections?. The earth came first, so it is more logical to say that humans evolved to survive in these condition rather than the other way around? Does life really prevail, and if you contend that it does, isn’t that a testament to the wonders of evolution?
