Thinking about purchasing a used 2004 Nissan Altima w/ 97,000 miles. Your thoughts?

This is what the owner wrote me: "The 2004 Nissan Altima SE 6 Cyl Automatic is in perfect working condition. This vehicle engine runs very, very smooth. No electrical problems on this beauty. This detailed vehicle makes the exterior looks like it just came off the assembly line. The car has 97,710 miles.
Transmission: Automatic
Options
Safety Features Security System Keyless Entry Anti-Lock Brakes Driver’s Air Bag Passenger Air Bag Fog Lights Intermittent Wipers Rear Defogger
Audio / VideoFactory System AM/FM CD Player 4 Speaker System"

He is selling it for about $3,000–going over seas for military reasons and needs to sell it. I’m just curious as to what the max life (mileage wise) a nissan altima can run to. Seems like this car has been well maintained. I’m just curious as to how many miles a nissan altima can go to?

VG-35DE motors last a long time either the automatic 4 or five speed trans will will last too. Very few 6 speed maunals out there. Many of my customers have 200,000 miles still running strong with only a couple O2 sensors frequent air filters and oil changes 4 sets of tires. Good Choice be cautious $3,000 is awfully cheep? Did you buy a Car fax report?

wow for a 2004 you should only buy a car with around 60 thousand mile. thats really high for 4 years. sounds like alot of highway miles.

Because at 100,000 miles you should change the timing belt water pump, alternator, starter, check the battery, do a tune up, buy new tires, and change the serpentine (Drive) belts. plus make sure the trans. is not slipping on any gear.

That plus the labor is going to cost you more than $3,000.

    Good luck with the search……..

    So its up to you
