God, I LOVE System Shock 2! Scared me more than any Silent Hill game ever did!

Yeah but better graphics also open new possibilities.

You are a graphics …
You are a graphics whore. The older the video game, the better the story it seems to have, in my opinion. Yeah, the graphics werent as good as they are today, but things were less predictable in old games. Graphics do not reflect how good a game is. At all. One of my favourite games ever is Zelda, Ocarina of time. Graphics, pretty bad. Story and gameplay? Freaking Brilliant.

RE5 lickers aren’t …
RE5 lickers aren’t very scary at all. Even though they’re much more detailed than RE2’s lickers, there are many differences that completely nullify the horror of facing a licker in RE2. The graphics of these games have very little impact on how scary an enemy is.

just a licker from re 2. and a licker from re 5
no flippin weapons or partners.

Perhaps its because in RE5, I have an ally, a multitude of heavy weapons, and a clear view of my surroundings, while in RE2 I’m alone with a pistol at that point.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, there’s way more to horror than graphics.
