is showing up to the voting booth once in a while to tick boxes of candidates whom you barely had any say in representing "your" party (especially when MOSTLY ALL politicians, no matter what side of the aisle they sit on, are in the pockets of those rich & powerful enough to contribute to their campaign funds), the true meaning of democracy?
what we have is a tyranny of the majority that occurs every 2/4 years, in constant flux. there is consistent, mostly uneducated, bickering about how the other side is wrong, when the truth is that we the people voluntarily give in to being controlled at all by politicians who are really not interested in representing the people. a single individual or party CANNOT side with everyone, thats only for when they are on the campaign trail.
never will everyone in the country agree on anything, so why do we act like it’s supposed to happen, and allow each side of the aisle rule the other side every so often? since it won’t, why dont the states control mostly everything. then people can move to whatever state suits their political opinions.
in my opinion, democracy can only take place locally, not in a distant fairy tale called washington that is only seen on the television & in the newspapers.
IS THIS DEMOCRACY PEOPLE? COME ON. if ya’ll think it is, i’m bouncin.
I believe there are two major political parties because there are really only two directions you can go… left and right.
In a nutshell… the Left thinks the Government should handle any and all social problems. The Right thinks the Government’s power should be limited to protect individual liberty.
In short, the further left you go, the more powerful the Government until you reach totalitarianism…
The further Right you go, the Individual becomes more powerful over their own life until you reach Anarchy.
