When the new Formula-1 season gets underway in Manama/Bahrain (12-14 March 2010), it will mark the debut of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG F1 Safety Car – the most spectacular and powerful Official F1 Safety Car of all time. The job of the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, which will be launched on 27 March 2010, is to ensure maximum safety in Formula 1. The “gullwing” model replaces the SL63 AMG, which was used as the Official F1 Safety Car in 2008 and 2009. As in the last two years, the C63 AMG Estate will be used as the Official F1 Medical Car for the coming season.
“Together with the entire AMG Team, I am very proud that the new SLS AMG is the official F1 safety car. I’m sure all Mercedes and AMG fans will be excited to see the gullwing model together with the new Mercedes GP Petronas Team at the F1 circuits,” says Volker Mornhinweg, Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
From March 2010, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG F1 Safety Car will be deployed whenever hazardous situations such as accidents or bad weather endanger normal racing. The SLS AMG, piloted by Bernd Mayländer (38, from Germany), will be on standby in the pit lane throughout the entire race. When radioed by Race Control, the former DTM driver and his co-driver, FIA man Pete Tibbetts (44, from the UK) will take to the track at the head of the field in order to guide the Formula-1 race cars safely around the circuit.
Unique vehicle concept for maximum driving dynamics
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has the best possible credentials for this demanding role in the top flight of motor racing: its 6.3-litre V8 engine has a peak output of 420 kW (571 hp) and a maximum torque of 650 Nm, enabling the gullwing model to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Fast lap times are a must for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG F1 Safety Car, otherwise the Formula-1 cars’ tyres and brakes would cool down too quickly, while their engines could overheat.
The unique vehicle concept is a key factor in ensuring outstanding driving dynamics: the aluminium spaceframe body keeps the vehicle weight down to 1620 kilograms (DIN kerb weight). And thanks to the dry-sump lubrication system, the AMG V8 powerplant can be installed very low down, resulting in a beneficial lowering of the vehicle’s centre of gravity. The installation position a long way behind the front axle and the transaxle arrangement of the new seven-speed double-clutch transmission on the rear axle have a positive effect on the weight distribution, which is 47/53 percent (front/rear). Pure motorsport tech-nology is used for the AMG sports suspension: aluminium double-wishbone axles front and rear ensure outstanding driving dynamics with precise turn-in ability, first-class agility, low mass inertia when changing direction spontaneously and, therefore, a high cornering limit.
Double-clutch transmission and ceramic composite brake system
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission with double-clutch technology features four modes and allows fast gear changes with practically no interruption in tractive power – in manual mode (”M”), gear changes can be effected in 100 milliseconds. Together with the 3-stage ESP, the integrated mechanical multidisc differential lock ensures outstanding traction. Meanwhile, braking distances are minimised and resistance to fading is maximised, even when the brakes are subject to typical race-track loads, courtesy of the AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system with its generously sized ceramic discs measuring 402 x 39 mm on the front axle and 360 x 32 mm on the rear axle. The weight-optimised 10-spoke forged wheels are shod with 265/35 R 19 (front) and 295/30 R 20 (rear) tyres.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG F1 Safety Car features the same engine, power transmission, suspension and brake system as the standard-production SLS AMG. The exceptional technology package for the super sports car ensures perfect driving dynamics and means that no further technical modifications or lightweight-design measures are necessary, with the sole exception of the all-new rear silencer, which allows the high-revving AMG V8 naturally aspirated engine to breathe more easily and offers Formula-1 fans an even more emotionally charged sound experience.

Test drive and walk around of a nearly perfect 2007 Chevrolet Corvette with Chris from Chicago Cars Direct.
.With acceleration, braking and handling stats that are fully equal to sports cars that cost up to three times as much, the Chevy Corvette could stop there, rest on its laurels and still be a great car. But there’s more to the Corvette’s appeal, including its user-friendly cockpit, massive amount of luggage space and ride quality that’s comfortable enough for daily commuting and long freeway slogs. There are also a wide range of Corvettes to choose from: the standard removable-top coupe, a convertible, and the ferocious Z06, a fixed-roof coupe that takes it to another level with its track-ready suspension and 7.0-liter, “LS7″ V8 that cranks out a tire-frying 505 hp. In addition, this year brings the Indy Pace Car convertible (which features Atomic orange paint with gold ribbon stripes, split-spoke wheels and special seat embroidery) and the Ron Fellows Edition Z06 (which is named after a victorious Corvette driver in the American Le Mans series and features red fender stripes on a white body along with a red and black two-tone cockpit).
Downsides to the 2007 Chevrolet Corvette are few and center chiefly on the interior. Although the Vette’s interior is better than before, especially in terms of build quality, it’s still too plain and has too much plastic trim for a car in this price range. This year’s availability of two-tone leather seating with embroidery accents adds a few points here, but in the end, the cockpit still isn’t the equal of some sports cars such as BMW’s M variant of the Z4 or Porsche’s Boxster and Cayman. Nor can it quite match those European cars’ more precise and nimble road feel. But for the majority of shoppers in this segment, those items shouldn’t be much of a deterrent. For the money, it doesn’t get any better than the Corvette.
Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
Although officially noted as being available in two body styles, a coupe and a convertible, the 2007 Chevrolet Corvette in essence offers three: targa-roof coupe, fixed-roof coupe and convertible. The standard Corvette coupe has a removable roof panel (a.k.a. “targa”) that allows nearly the same open-air experience as a true convertible, whereas the Corvette Z06 coupe’s roof looks the same but is fixed in place. The convertible is for roadster purists, and its top, as tradition dictates, hides under a flip-open panel that lies flush with the body. The coupe and convertible come well-equipped with features such as xenon headlamps, keyless entry and startup, a tire-pressure monitor, leather seating, a six-way power driver seat and dual-zone automatic climate control. Notable options for the standard coupe and convertible include a navigation system, a transparent roof panel for the coupe, a head-up display, a driver-seat memory and a seven-speaker Bose audio system. A couple of suspension options are available as well: the Magnetic Ride Control suspension, which automatically firms up and softens the suspension in milliseconds according to how the car is being driven, and the Z51 performance handling package, which adds extra cooling; stiffer springs, shocks and stabilizer bars; bigger brakes with cross-drilled rotors; specific tires and shorter gearing for the six-speed manual. The Z06 maintains most of the regular Corvette coupe’s features but gains a lightweight aluminum frame, wider wheels and tires, a more stiffly tuned suspension, better brakes and special sport seats.
Powertrains and Performance
Base coupe and convertible Corvettes come with a 6.0-liter LS2 V8, rated at 400 hp and 400 pound-feet of torque. The Z06 boasts a stunning 505 hp and 470 lb-ft from its 7.0-liter LS7 V8. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard across the board, while a new six-speed automatic is a no-charge option for the base coupe and convertible. Either engine delivers stunning performance: The regular Corvette with an automatic runs the quarter in 12.8 seconds, while the Z06 turns in a blistering 12.2-second effort.
Safety
Four-wheel ventilated, antilock disc brakes are standard. Side-impact airbags are optional and head curtain airbags are not available. The latest Chevy Corvette features a superb stability control and traction control system as standard. Called “Active Handling,” this system has been programmed to provide noninvasive assistance, and its performance driving mode gives the driver even more control at the track while still maintaining a safety net.

Here is my updated setup. Two twelve inch Infinity 122.7 subwoofers, two 6 1/2 Infinity Kappa speakers, two 6×9 Infinity Kappas all three way. The system sounds good but is more for sound quality than SPL. The system sounds great but I wish it was a bit louder I guess. All in all I like it. I am using an Infinity 7541a for the components, and an Infinity 1211a mono amp running at 1200rms 2ohms for the subs. I am using a 1.7 Farad cap and and optima yellow top battery. I still get dimming though? Maybe the cap is junk or isnt big enough? Anyway, comments, sugestions? Also, the sub enclosures are sealed. If you run these subs sealed you need at least 1200W RMS or more. I am running that between the two of mine an they do not even get warm. Songs are by Lil John, Throw it up and What U Gonna Do?

Just playing around with a Massive Audio Precision Series PA50 amplifier after I repaired it. Well Built USA MADE Amplifier!!!!!!! I changed the filter caps on the 12-volt side of the power supply as well as one of the remote turn on transistors. This is a very nice amp and has an excellent sound to it. Perfect Full Range or MID / Highs amp, but will also drive some subs. I will make another video with it powering some woofers, with it hooked up to the scope & Fluke True RMS meter. I will have this amplifier for sale hopefuly soon, most likely on ebay, although I have to order some terminal screws for the 4 guage power block first. If your interested in this amp please send me a message & I will try to let you know when I do get it listed on ebay.

The new Strata infant car seat answers the health concerns of parents and health professionals as a positive solution to the health and safety of transporting newborn babies in the car and on a travel system.
Strata Car Seat
THE FIRST INFANT CARRIER THAT HELPS PERFECT PULMONARY DEVELOPMENT FOR NEWBORN BABIES:
Strata is the latest infant car seat from Jane, designed for the complete well-being and comfort of your baby, especially during the first few months, in which the baby’s correct posture is essential for their development. During this first stage the healthiest position for your baby is lying down. After the third month approximately, they can start sitting up. Strata thanks to a new patented system by Jane, allows your baby to always be in the correct position. It couldn’t be easier.
IT GROWS WITH YOUR BABY:
On lowering the backrest, the base of the seat automatically rises, increasing the angle of the backrest up to 125°. YOUR BABY CAN BREATH EASY, AND SO CAN YOU: From around 4 months onwards, when raising the backrest the base of the seat returns to its original position obtaining an angle of 110°. This system also adjusts the 5 point harness to the correct position for your growing baby without the need to undo and rethread the harness when your child grows.
FEATURES:
Passing the cars seat belt under the frame of the strata allows for easy installation in vehicles with shorter seat belts. It also leaves the area for your babies feet free, so they are more comfortable.
The seat belt of the vehicle can be locked so it can be tightened to give more stability.
Jane has incorporated ventilation holes, to avoid discomfort from perspiration.
The carrying handle has 4 positions which can be adjusted with just one hand.
Incorporates a 5-point safety harness – a first for this type of infant car seat on the market; most infant car seats would normally have only a 3-point “Y” harness. This new 5-point safety harness allows for a bigger fastening surface and therefore provides a higher level of safety.
The carrying handle also acts as an anti-rotation device and provides greater protection for your baby.
The strata now comes complete with a 100% cotton insert, a built-in insect net and SPA music effect – melodies with pleasant sounds to relax your baby.
Suitable from birth – 13kg (18 months approx) rearward facing.
