    12 inch Infinity Kappa Subwoofers

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2010 and filed under perfect car audio system | 25 Comments »

Here is my updated setup. Two twelve inch Infinity 122.7 subwoofers, two 6 1/2 Infinity Kappa speakers, two 6×9 Infinity Kappas all three way. The system sounds good but is more for sound quality than SPL. The system sounds great but I wish it was a bit louder I guess. All in all I like it. I am using an Infinity 7541a for the components, and an Infinity 1211a mono amp running at 1200rms 2ohms for the subs. I am using a 1.7 Farad cap and and optima yellow top battery. I still get dimming though? Maybe the cap is junk or isnt big enough? Anyway, comments, sugestions? Also, the sub enclosures are sealed. If you run these subs sealed you need at least 1200W RMS or more. I am running that between the two of mine an they do not even get warm. Songs are by Lil John, Throw it up and What U Gonna Do?

    Infinity Kappa Perfect Custom System

Posted by admin on April 1st, 2010 and filed under perfect car audio system | 7 Comments »

This is my 2005 Chevy TrailBlazer LT EXT with a completely custom Infinity audio system. I did all the work myself, I built the amp box ( Bottom ), sub box ( top ), wiring and install I had a buddy of mine assist me with, but the majority was still me.

As far as what is installed, it is mentioned in the video but here is a list.

    2 Kappa Perfect 12DVQs ( Subs )
    2 Pairs of Kappa Perfect 6.1 Components ( Front & Rear )
    1 Pair Of Kappa 32.9CF ( Top Dash )
    1 Kappa One ( Mono Class D – Sub Amp )
    1 Kappa Four ( 4 Channel Amp )

    Alpine IDA-X100 ( Deck )
    Alpine KCA-SC100 ( Sirius Adapter )
    Alpine SC-C1 ( Sirius Tuner )

PAC Audio SWI-JACK ( Steering Wheel Control Module )

For the fabrication of the boxes I used different materials.

3/4in MDF for the sub box
3/4in Plywood for the amp box.

    4 Antec 3-Speed Computer Fans
    3 Low Voltage Plates
2 Single Gang Recessed Low Voltage Cable Wall Plate
1 Single Gang 2 Speaker Wall Plate

    12AWG CL2 Rated 2 In-Wall Grade Speaker Wire
    22AWG Premium RCA Audio Cables
Tsunami 4AWG Power & Ground Lines
Tsunami 8AWG Power & Ground Lines
    Tsunami 100 Amp Fuse Block
Rockford Fosgate 60 Amp AGU Fuse ( At Battery )
2 Rockford Fosgate 4AWG to 8AWG Distribution Blocks
    Tsunami 1 Farad Power Capacitor

Both SVC (single voice coil) infinity series subwoofers were “bass – less” when we found them -. Pushin 1000 watts & Blowing woofers has never been so fun on a pdx alpine amp :D Alpine pdx-1.1000 – As for the woofers – we re-coned the subs, and re-built them to work. 2 12 inch Single Voice Coils 4 Ohm subs…. We did not use any high quality, comp products in good condition. That’s why I felt fine to blow them up to knockout flame smoking explosion :D The explosion was huge & louder than I expected. It was frying them guys !! No kidding, litterally cooking them and melting them fried. The best part was the flaming crazy flex from that paul wall track, you know, that really loud bass song, with that really good deep sounding bass line, really did the wicked cool exploding trick! – It was awesome, and it was insane that when it caught on fire the smoke & fire didn’t spread lol. They sure were smoked. No largest world record here, just a nice fun night. All time fun – all time bass Thought I’d share it.
