this car is awesome, we just rebuilt it from the block up, the heads were decked,5 angle valve job, polished “inside”, all new gaskets, and valvetrain, 10.2 mm plug wires, cold air, new high flow cat. new timing gears, belt, and other pulleys connected to the timing,has a pretty small stereo system rite now, just a 10” infinity perfect that i repaired talk about a tough sub its like 8 yrs old lol ,a OLD school 700 watt 2 ch LA sound amp,pioneer premier head unit , but it will be nice when im done.my other system hits easy 148 dbs. soon getting headers ,new muffler maybe all 3″ piping,and a chip cuz all my mods set off the check eng. lite.even though it runs perfect, you guys got any good suggestions without turbo or supercharger how to get some more power out of it??? lmk plz, o yea check out my RX-7 project car to!!

thats why i like cars made befor 1994, less junk to go wrong and drain the wallet. i love my 1992 mazda 323. it has no power steering, no a/c , no wires runing all over the place. barley any sensors, and a 5 speed that will last forever, maybe need a clutch someday… better than a trans rebuild..

@AwesomeSeth if it seems like you dont have good low end it might be that youre VRIS isnt working. they dont have much low end when they aren’t functioning properly if at all.

first thing go get a cold air kit like mine. should only cost about 40-50$ for a cheap 1 . then the next cheapest thing to get more low end is headers and exhaust ! better plugs and plug wires helps everything work together.

I have a 94 MX6 with the 2.5 in it, and I was wondering if you could give me some advice as how to make it get up and go a little better. Its all stock right now, but it hit 130 MPH today! Ill put the vid up soon. I just need a quick cheap way to get better low RPM power. It kicks hard after 4.5k, but no low end power.

a ive had it hooked to 4 different computers. they all read that 75% of the sensors are bad. but the thing is they are all fine…i had mass head work done to this car. the compression is about 10.5:1 way higher than stock. and the heads are ported to allow more air into the motor. ez way to mod em out is every time u replace something get high performance parts. i would recommend to anyone to get a cold air kit for it. mine was 40$ about and WOW is all i have to say. it made a major upgrade !

check engine light is normally O2 sensor nice mods i have a 95 ford PROBE gt in MENT condition with a 89K on it just replaced several minor parts not sure if wanna mod it out 135mph is plenty fast for me!!

Well I’ve heard of guys using Megasquirts, but if you get a set of KL-ZE cams (or even a straight neck KL-ZE, which is a pretty cheap and easy way to get 35hp) I’d go for the KL-ZE ECU. You can buy a chip that’ll convert your USA computer to KLZE specs too.

Good headers and a set of KLZE cams should help you out. 2.5″ piping is probably what you want too, 3″ might be a bit big for the 2.5L.
